Email Domain Update
Email Domain Update
Take the necessary steps to ensure uninterrupted email sending!
From 1st February 2024, major email hosts like Gmail and Yahoo have made some important changes to email deliverability requirements to create safer and spam-free inboxes!
These changes impact all users, (especially those sending over 5,000 messages from a single sender domain to one email service provider in one day - e.g. if your mailing list is over 5k).
The changes coming into effect are:
- Senders (aka YOU) must use a branded domain, like maxxmarketing.com.au
- Your domain must be authenticated with SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records (definitions below)
- You must limit spam complaints (below 0.3%)
- You must allow easy one click unsubscribe AND honour unsubscribing requests within two days.
From 1st Feb you will be unable to send bulk emails from generic addresses such as @gmail.com, @yahoo.com etc.
Let us simplify the process for you! We will update your domain to save you the hassle, ensuing a fast turnaround time and save you the headache of wrapping your head around all the 'techy stuff'
Inclusions:
- Authenticate custom email domains in your email marketing platform (Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Omnisend)
- Authenticate domain in Shopify (if applicable)
- Includes setting up of relevant DKIM, SPF and DMARC records - these are just fancy terms to tell email providers like Gmail that you aren't a spam address.
- Verify domain on relevant platforms
Please note you must already have purchased your custom domain (e.g. maxxmarketing.com.au) and have an email address associated with this domain (e.g. info@maxxmarketing.com.au)
Turnaround time - 10 business days
Definitions:
SPF (Sender Policy Framework) is a domain record that authenticates your email by identifying that the mail server is allowed to send emails on behalf of your domain.
DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail) uses a digital signature to let the receiver of an email know the message it was sent by an authorised domain.
DMARC (Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) is an email authentication, policy and reporting protocol that is one of the best ways to fight phishing and spoofing emails, protecting both you and your customers!
